Visited Andy and Emma last May for four fantastic days with three friends all new to Ireland. Never stopped laughing from when we arrived to when we left and two kinder more generous people you couldn`t wish to meet. Hope to be back this year and I wish you well, you thoroughly deserve it.

Helen Lowe: Thanks guys.

Only an hour or so after landing or docking you can be tucking into one of the best breakfasts in the UK. An hour later you are settled down for probably your best fishing ever. Have just returned from another week piking and despite wet weather have had a fantastic time.Personal best of 10lb 1oz and have only been fishing for a year. Andys gilly and boat service with his local knowledge is second to none. And the warm welcome and great food from Emma makes the trip. I sound like an advert but it was truly fantastic time. Thanks guys. Hope to see you in Feb.

Barry Frost: Thanks Andy and Family

I have just returned from spending a few days with Andy and Emma. This was my third trip to Gwencol and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The fishing was affected by the gale force winds and torrential rain but even Andy cannot control that. I was a complete novice to pike fishing this year and the gillieing service he offers is a brilliant way of learning the ropes from an expert. He is also a nice guy to spend a day with. He has a real passion for the sport and the welfare of the fish which is important to me. I can thoroughly recommend giving him a try.

Ziggy Alexandrou : warm friendly welcome

If you're looking for a warm friendly welcome, first class accomodation and some fantastic fishing to boot, whether it be course or pike, then Gwencol's where it's at! Star of the Show, Andy, aided and abetted by his lovely wife Emma, will guarantee you a fishing holiday break to remember, when you visit Gwencol. But be warned, if you don't improve on your personal best, you WILL improve on your waistline. The food has to be seen to be believed!!! Thank you both once again for a truly memorable time. See you again next year, (for the third time!) Ziggy.

Mathew Look: Cheers for great holidays

2005 - August Every year gets better and better, a new Personel best (105lbs waggler caught mixed bag from Gowna, followed by 75 + lb the next day - Gowna ain't dead as per some reports in the press !)but you got to know where to fish. If you've never been to Southern Cavan area, or new to Ireland, or fancy a change of venue - you can't go wrong with Andy & Emma @ Gwencol. They realy know how to look after you and always do their best to make sure you get the fish. In 11 years of fishing Ireland, when it keeps getting bad reports - I have caught more each trip and I put that down to Andys' knowledge of his area. There aren't many that take you to the swim (pre-baited if you like !), stay while you catch your first and them come back later with a camera ! The house is great, always warm with a great menu cooked for your return by Emma. Not forgeting little lucy who even digs your worms for you to order. Adan - what can I say - already better catches of pike than me in 30 years UK piking ! I have met some good freinds at Gwencol - Andy and Emma come top of the list. Cheers for great holidays' ! Mat Look.
